The Object of this police benevolent fund is to provide financial aid to Fund members being serving or retired police officers of the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary and / or their dependants.
The South West Police Compassionate Fund exists to provide financial assistance to its members and their families through times of severe hardship. We approve applications for a wide range of difficulties our members may be experiencing. At the start of 2021, we changed our charitable status and name to reflect the changing face of policing in Devon and Cornwall, which enables us to offer a wider level of support to those who need it the most. We grant lump sums of up to £6,000 to help our hardest-hit members through the financial hardship that comes with life-changing events.
Every donation is very important to us and will help the Fund provide financial aid to police officers of this Constabulary either serving or retired and their dependants where there is a need. Membership is open to all serving and retired sworn police officers of the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.
We grant lump sums of up to £6,000 to help our hardest-hit members through the financial hardship that comes with life-changing events. The fund offers grants to our members and their immediate family for a variety of reasons, but you don’t have to fit into any particular definition to qualify for help. In 2019 the SWFPC awarded £259,678 in grants to our members and their families during their times of greatest need.
