At the start of 2021, we changed our charitable status and name to reflect the changing face of policing in Devon and Cornwall, which enables us to offer a wider level of support to those who need it the most.
We grant lump sums of up to £6,000 to help our hardest-hit members through the financial hardship that comes with life-changing events.
Membership is open to serving police officers, who can then continue membership during their retirement.
We don’t receive any government funding, so all the work we do is funded by regular contributions from officers’ salaries and pensions. We also benefit enormously from donations and legacies given by members of the public who recognise and value the essential support we offer those who work so hard to keep everyone safe.
Our honorary president the chief constable and our trustees all give their time voluntarily to ensure the charity runs smoothly and that funds are granted to those in genuine need.
Without the support of our members and the local community, the fund be unable to carry out its mission. So on behalf of the honorary president and the board of trustees, we’d like to thank everyone who supports our charity. All grant decisions are subject to financial need assessment, and management committee approval.
Please note that the figures given are subject to regular review. If you have a question or need more information, please [link to admin email or contact page]contact the fund administration team[link].
Our grants are financed by member donations, sponsorship events, social functions, legacies, collection boxes, investment income, and public generosity. We extend our warmest gratitude to everyone who makes this fund possible.
